Total treatments: 8
Oh DigniCap… There is nothing in the world that I passionately love and dislike like that ice cold cap of freedom. DigniCap gave me the freedom to choose when to tell people about my diagnosis, to still feel like myself when I looked in the mirror, and to HAVE HAIR AT MY WEDDING!!
I was so nervous that my wedding photos would be a constant reminder of chemo. These are the pictures that you are supposed to hang on all the walls of your home and show everyone that walks in the door. How strange to have the best and worst time of your life wrapped into one photo? No thanks! Luckily, I didn’t have to postpone the wedding because my wonderful doctor recommended DigniCap!
My wedding was after chemo #6 (out of 8 total). With each passing treatment I worried that I would have to get married in a wig. Thankfully, DigniCap worked! My hair was definitely thin on my wedding day, but my fabulous hairstylist was able to disguise that. I am very happy with how it all worked out.
My tips for anyone that is using DigniCap are to:
1. DON’T pull at your hair. ever.
2. Messy buns give more volume to your hair
3. Stretchy, fabric headbands can help disguise any balding that you may have
Best of luck to all the warriors!
